Fiddle
Ethan's love of traditional music and dance goes back to his parents.
His father played the guitar and sang, though only at home, and his mother
regularly took part in country dancing. His enthusiasm for the traditional
music of the northeast of England, as well as for Irish music, was sparked
by a friend at university, but remained largely dormant for many years until
he moved to Ryton in 1990. In the meantime, he spent some time in the USA
where he sporadically played old-time and bluegrass fiddle.
Having moved to the northeast, he decided it was time to take traditional
fiddle music seriously. He became a keen session participant and has been
playing fiddle in ceilidh bands for over 20 years. He joined the Angels in 2013.
