James Jackson
Multi-instrumentalist
James is a multi-instrumentalist who was a founder member of the Angels.
He plays an astonishing variety of instruments but is best remembered for his driving piano accordion and Northumbrian small pipes.
James acquired a double bass which made a wonderful contribution to the Angels sound although it was difficult
to transport to ceilidhs and the band still chuckle when they remember James arriving with his double bass
on the pillion of his motorcycle. James is a composer and the Angels still regularly play some of his compositions.
James is currently studying an open MA/MSc the Open University and his latest musical passion is a
magnificent 12 course baroque lute with which he is exploring the early Scottish and French baroque repertoire.

Everybody we have spoken to has said how much they enjoyed the music and the dancing, especially the children. All went home happy and tired! You all did an amazing job to include all the children so well. I'm sure it must of been hard work and we really appreciate it. The dances were pitched just right.Contact Us
